My Journey
I’m Sharon Drapeau, though many of you might know me as Shay Michelle Drapeau, co-author of Got A Light?. My story, like so many others, is one of finding my way through the ups and downs of life, and I’m grateful to be able to share that journey with you through my writing. Being a bestselling author is still something I’m getting used to, but at the heart of it, I’m just a woman who loves to tell stories—stories that dig into the soul, touch on the messiness of being human, and leave room for hope and healing.
My story in Got A Light? was born out of those very real, life-shifting moments we all go through. It’s not just a chapter—it’s a reflection of resilience, the kind we all have inside us, even when we think the light’s about to go out. I’ve always believed in the power of stories, not just to entertain, but to connect us, to remind us that we’re not alone in our experiences.
I’ve worn many hats in my life, from videographer to coach, but writing has always been my home. It’s where I feel most myself and where I hope to help others feel seen and inspired. For me, it’s not just about crafting a narrative—it’s about offering a light to anyone who might be searching for one in their own life.
So, whether you’re here because you’ve read my book, or maybe you’re just curious about who I am, I want you to know that you’re welcome in this space. I hope my words make you feel understood, and maybe even a little bit empowered to tell your own story. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that our stories are the key to unlocking the healing we need—and I’m here to help you find yours.
